If you're migrating your website from Volusion to Shopify then there are some things you need to know when it comes to your professional company email. Volusion has a partnership with Rackspace to provide its users with professional email. This poses a problem if you're migrating and are going to shut down your Volusion subscription. However, there is an easy way to request from Rackspace that they transfer the account ownership from Volusion to your own subscription. Follow the instructions below to initiate an account ownership change. You can do this at any time during your migration and the sooner the better.
Requesting Rackspace Ownership Transfer
Step 1: You will need to create a new account with Rackspace directly. Go to Rackspace.com and click the "Marketplace" tab in the top right corner and scroll down the Applications section.
Step 2: Select the email plan you are looking to sign up for and enter the number of users and continue.
Step 3: When you're asked for your domain, enter "test" in front of your actual domain (e.g. testpelicancommerce.com) and continue. This will act as a temporary placeholder until the existing account owned by Volusion is switched over by Rackspace.
Step 4: Once you complete the signup process, give Rackspace support a call at (855) 348-9064 and they will help you get everything switched over!
When you talk to support explain to them that you are migrating your Volusion website to another platform, and that you created an account with Rackspace and want to switch the ownership of your existing email to your own account.
